But soon he also discovered punk rock, and the very first record that he bought with his own money was Ramones "Road to ruin". During his childhood, Adrian took deep impressions from guys like Deep Purple's Ian Paice, The Police's Stewart Copeland, and Rush's Neil Pert. During his highschool years, he also discovered ska.

One night, he and a couple of his friends went to see No Doubt live in concert. And he became an instant fan. Just a little later on he heard that No Doubt was looking for a new drummer in 1989 after the last drummer had left No Doubt he decided to convience them that he would be the best drummer. In question how long he had been playing the drums, he said that had beating the skins since 1983, when he actually got his first drums christmas day of 1987 and had only been playing for around 2 years. But it worked out, and everyone was really happy about it so he got the job and have been a member of No Doubt ever since.

Many people may wishes for stardom and for playing for larger crowds. But in an interview Adrian recently revealed that it was more fun when they were small. One of his all-time favourite bands is Vandals. Warren, Joe, Josh and Dave, four guys he known since just a little before No Doubt got famous. Whenever he got some time off, hanging with those guys is one of the most fun things he knows. During the first two weeks of august this year, he also did a shorter tour with them in the U.K. as Vandals temporary drummer. The reason was that the original drummer Josh Freese couldn't make it to the UK as he was touring with Gun's 'n Roses on their californian tour. As soon as he found out about he demanded to play, and the other guys in No Doubt had no problems with it. They said that it was an awesome thing and that he should go for it.

One of his interests except for going to parties, and hanging out at clubs is actually playing golf. And he tries to hang out on the green at least once every second week.

Adrian sees it much more a challenge to play with the Vandals, and he also seemed to have a great time during the two weeks tour with them in the U.K. He would of course never leave No Doubt to join them. Adrian can only see two years in front of him playing with No Doubt, then he doesn't know what will happen. But it's not impossible that the band will go on.
