Coming Home!
Hey Guys! Our stay here in London is coming to an end. I can't decide if I'm happy or sad. Making this record has been so much fun and we have met some talented friends along the way. I feel excited about the future and having you all hear the record. We go home to do the video for the first single called "Hey Baby" and we are talking about the concept now. The artwork has been done for a while and I'm really excited about how it came out. It was inspired by an artist named Steven Sprouse. We wanted something really graphic. I think it echos the vibe of the music perfectly. We just got the inside pictures back and we will be shooting the back cover when we get home. We need to decide on the running order and we're done!! I'm looking forward to rehearsing for the U2 tour next week and playing the old and new songs live. Hope you guy like Rock Steady as much as I do. Take care.
Love,

Last week of mixing
Today was an off-day and we went and saw Planet of The Apes. For those of you who saw this movie, I wish that Mark Wahlberg would have french kissed the main female ape instead of the human! We now have two more songs to mix starting Monday. So this is our last week for mixing, and then we go home and start rehearsals for the U2 tour.

Still in London, almost done.
Hey folks, we're still here in London and very close to being finished mixing Rock Steady. Mixing can be a long, all-day process and fortunately for us there's a tennis court and ping pong table at the studio for our amusement during down times. Guess who the best tennis player in the band is? Adrian. The weather in London is way different than in L.A. so we often have to play tennis in the rain. Someone posted in the fan forum that Rock Steady can be pre-ordered from amazon.com already, so check it out.

Back to Work
We're back in London and mixing the record again. Many of these songs were written and the demos were recorded in my home studio earlier this year back in Los Angeles. Tony and myself took much musical inspiration from contemporary Jamaican dancehall music. On most of the song demos, Tony, myself, and Gwen came up with and played most of the keyboard parts. The great thing is that most of those demo recordings ended up on the actual album tracks. For example, on the song "Hey Baby", there ended up being very few guitar parts but I carry great pride in the keyboard work that I did on the song. Thanks to studio technology advances, we literally recorded much of this new album in our living room for you to listen to in yours.

Mexican Food
We've been in London for 11 days mixing...we should be done mixing by the end of September. We moved out of the hotel and into a 5 bedroom house and on the first night one of the toilets exploded and Tony and myself got toilet water all over ourselves!! I rented a car, with the steering wheel on the right and with a stick on the left, and have almost killed myself numerous times forgetting to stay on the left side of the road, and driving head on into traffic. I'm in desparate need of Mexican food! If anyone knows of a good place in London to grab some, please send an email. Today we're mixing a song called, "Hella Good"....Got a ticket this morning in front of the house for improperly parking in a "No Parking" zone...all and all things are going fairly smoothly and and the excitement factor's starting to raise as we come closer to finishing this record.
