Gwen Stefani's 'Christmas' Debuts at No. 1 on Holiday Albums Chart

Its not even Halloween yet, but Christmas albums are already starting to hit the charts, including Gwen Stefanis new You Make It Feel Like Christmas. The album debuts at No. 1 on the Holiday Albums chart dated Oct. 28 with 10,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Oct. 12, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 9,000 were in traditional album sales.

The set also enters at No. 51 on the Billboard 200 chart.

The Holiday Albums and the Billboard 200 charts rank the weeks most popular holiday albums, and all-genre albums, respectively, based on their overall consumption. That overall unit figure combines pure album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).

You Make It Feel Like Christmas is Stefanis first holiday effort, and follows her Billboard 200 No. 1 album This Is What the Truth Feels Like, released in 2016.

The Holiday Albums chart is a seasonal Billboard tally, which is compiled and published weekly from October through early January each year. The Oct. 28 edition of the list is the second week of the charts current season.

Also on the new Holiday Albums chart, Alabamas American Christmas debuts at No. 4, Fantasias Christmas After Midnight enters at No. 4, and Elvis Presleys Elvis Christmas With the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra bows at No. 6.

Upcoming holiday album releases include Sias Everyday is Christmas (due Nov. 17), Lindsey Stirlings Warmer in the Winter (Oct. 20) and a deluxe reissue of Pentatonixs Billboard 200 No. 1 effort A Pentatonix Christmas (Oct. 20).

In 2016, while overall album sales declined 16.8 percent (falling from 241.4 million in 2015 to 200.8 million in 2016), the sales of Christmas albums rose 10.6 percent (climbing from 7.2 million to 7.97 million).
