Details : John Spence created along with Gwen & Eric Stefani the band No Doubt. During those days it was called Apple Core. John was No Doubt's first singer. Gwen did during those days 2nd vocal. Eric Stefani played Keyboard.

No Doubt grow ed within a short time from 3 members to 9 members incl. horn section. No Doubt played their 1st official performance on March 14th, 1987 in Fender's Ballroom in Long Beach California. Gwen remembers the following summer as 'forever'.

In December 1987 killed John Spence himself in an Anaheim park.

No Doubt had a lot of doubt's to continue but decided to move on and continue to play. They continued playing because they thought, that's what's John wanted.

As memorial of John Spence, No Doubt created a song called 'Dear John'. This song ended up on No Doubt's 1st demo tape witch got sold by performances that No Doubt gave.
