Billboard Devalopments Before I start, I would remind that this succesfull year was at the same time of No Doubt`s 15th anniversary. Exact 15 year, after No Doubt official started back in 1987. This
Week The Adult Top 40, Underneath it All is still number #2 for the 5th week. Only The Game Of Love from Santana Featuring Michelle Branch is standing above No Doubt. This is going on now, for several weeks. Rock Steady deserve it`s name. It`s 54 weeks in charts now (that`s 1 year and 1 week) and It climbed again. From number #71 to number #66 this week. Rock Steady is standing in three different years in the charts. It entered the charts in the last week from 2001. The whole year 2002 and now the first week from 2003.
2002 Overview In February/March this year, Rock Steady`s first single Hey Baby, reached number #5 in the Billboard Hot 100. It reached number #10 in the Adult Top 40. Hey Baby became also a big hit all over the world. In the United Kingdom: it entered the chart at number #2 in exact the same month (February), exact 5 year after Don`t Speak standed number #1. Summer 2002, Rock Steady`s second single released called Hella Good. Hella Good reached number #13 in the Billboard Hot 100. Also it reached number #9 in the Adult Top 40. But that not all. The remix version from Hella Good topped the Hot Dance Music/Club Play Chart. In August, No Doubt won 2 MTV Music Awards. The Best Group Video Award and Best Pop Video Award for both the videoclip from Hey Baby. On September 14th 2002, Gwen Stefani married Gavin Rossdale after a 6 year relationship. Before I continue to tell how good No Doubt it did in Fall 2002, I would mention that Gwen Stefani was during summer of 2001 in the Top 3 of America. The collaboration from Eve ft Gwen Stefani called Let Me Blow Ya Mind reached number #2 in the Billboard Hot 100 chart. But only Gwen Stefani reached it, not No Doubt.
In the fall from 2002, No Doubt released Rock Steady`s third single called Underneath it All. This single had an unexpected big succes in the same time, that No Doubt was doing their second Arena Tour through America. Underneath it All reached number #3 !!! in the Billboard Hot 100. After 6 year, No Doubt returned in the Top 3 from America. The last time No Doubt was in the top 3, was with Don`t Speak back in the Fall of 1996. Don`t Speak was No Doubt`s breaktrough single all over the world and reached number #1 in the Billboard charts. But that`s not all... Underneath it All is number #2 in Adult Top 40 for the last few current weeks, as you can read above. Next to the Billboard chart, Underneath it All topped the Radio Airplay chart for 2 weeks during the first two weeks from November. Because No Doubt is been so succesfull over the last period, No Doubt was able to do an Arena Tour again. So in October and November from 2002, No Doubt played in many Arena`s. The last Arena Tour was back in 1997, during the succes period from Tragic Kingdom. With in the frontprogram : Garbage, Good Charlotte and The Distillers, No Doubt visited many Arena`s. During that tour No Doubt, played also three dates with the Rolling Stones. By end November, No Doubt played 3 different dates in Long Beach Arena and as latest venue the Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim (No Doubt`s Hometown) on November 30th. Those three Long Beach Arena shows were filmed and will be released on Video and DVD in the future. During those Long Beach shows, No Doubt was standing number #3 in the Billboard Hot 100 chart. But what`s the point ? The latest three Long Beach shows in the Long Beach Arena had the most Gross Sale for the shows with $1,372,665 that week in America. So it Topped the Billboard Boxscore chart from early December. As latest Rock Steady. By January 23rd 2002, Rock Steady was certificated Platinum and Gold. One and half month after it released on December 11th, 2001. Rock Steady standed number #13 in the first week of 2002 and in the last week from 2002 it standed #71. It give a bit an idea how good Rock Steady is doing in the Billboards last year. On October 1st, Rock Steady past the 2 million mark. No Doubt`s management called Rebel Waltz Inc, annouced that Rock Steady sold 2,022,428 coppies in that week. Weeks later, it was annouced by the Billboard charts. On October 11th, 2002 (10 months after it release), it was certificated 2x Platinum. The last time it happend was in August 1996 with Tragic Kingdom. Now at the end 2002, the results of the succes from No Doubt could be found back in the Year end charts from the Billboards. Rock Steady reached number #25 in the Billboard Year End Chart from 2002. Back in 1996, No Doubt`s Tragic Kingdom reached number #19 in the Billboard Year end chart from 1996. Why am I telling this ? Because Rock Steady is No Doubt`s 2nd most succesfull album todate. Rock Steady is standing much longer in the Billboard chart, then No Doubt created it. No Doubt have to thank Rock Steady on Tony Kanal, due his connections. About 2002, I would credit this year as : The most succesfull year since 1997. Exact 5 year after No Doubt`s breaktrough all over the world. No Doubt mentioned this year as an Amazing year. We (NDIFC) totally agree with it. We as Fans are very proud of No Doubt. Over the things No Doubt reached this Hella Good year. It proved a Real love Survive a Rock Steady Vibe... Be carefull with Firework and have a Happy New Year !!! Richard

Tony about touring in 2003
A few minutes ago, we talked to Tony Kanal, who commented all the rumours to clear up
any and all speculations, that has been going on during the past couple of months. Quote:
"As far as next year, we definitely will not be touring anywhere. We are done touring on this record and have no plans to do anything for a while"
While he admitted happily that it had been an incredible year, and very special to end the tour at the Pond.
