Tick Tock Tick Tock
New mom Gwen Stefani knows what time it is — time to debut a line of L.A.M.B. watches. The singer/designer will have 28 timepieces in stores this July, with more due in time for the holiday season. The watches, which include pieces inspired by L.A.M.B. clothing as well as more classic signature pieces designed by Stefani, will debut at Nordstrom's before hitting department stores and boutiques worldwide.

Baby Doll Gwen Stefani
She may be just a girl, but that don't mean Gwen Stefani can't also be a "Baby Doll".

(Must remember not to even try to type smarmy opening lines for news items after just getting back from the bar with friends - like a cat giving birth to a rat, it just don't come out right).

According to Sky Showbiz, the budding actress (she had a small role in "The Aviator", you may recall) is in talks to front a remake of the 1956 drama "Baby Girl", playing the lead role of Baby Doll Meighan, previously played by Carroll Baker.

The film, written by playwright Tennessee Williams, fixes on a gorgeous young woman (Stefani) who makes a promise to her failed businessman husband that their marriage will be consumated a year from their nuptials. The husband, desperate to bed his wife, and dying to get his business going again, decides to burn down the plant of his arch-rival. His plan succeeds at first, as the rival must use the hubby's facilities to produce his cotton, but things start to go awry for him when the rival meets Baby Doll.

Interestingly enough, the original film found an enemy in The Legion of Decency, an organization of the Roman Catholic Church in the US, that condemned the film as immoral, and despite the efforts of director Elia Kazan, were able to get it withdrawn from release.

New No Doubt Book
Hi all. I'm a writer, based in Sydney, Australia. I was the former editor of Australian Rolling Stone and have written biographies of such bands as Silverchair, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Cure. You can see samples of my work at www.amazon.com.

I'm currently working on a long-overdue biography of No Doubt, due for release in the second half of 2007. I'm trying to track down rare ND items: early videos / TV appearances, demos, magazine articles that appeared prior to Tragic Kingdom mania, that type of thing.

I'm willing to pay for these items and will acknowledge any help in the book when it is released.

If you think you have anything that might be of us, please let me know. And please feel free to forward this email to anyone who you think might be able to help me out.

Mail me at : dgonsalves@optusnet.com.au

Thanks a lot for your help.
