New Magazine

The NDIFC has been laying low the last few months but we have lots of exciting things to share with you as 2006 draws to a close. We are in the final stages of getting our new magazine printer finalized and we are aiming to get a new issue of the magazine out soon thereafter. As always, suggestions of stories/ideas you'd like to see in future issues are always welcomed (email them to: Gwenfiend@aol.com).

Soon we will be having new contests (including one with some autographed items), sharing new photos (including some of Adrian with Bow Wow Wow recently), interviews and much more. At this time I have a favor to ask of you all. I will be doing some interviews with Tony, Tom, Adrian and Stephen in the coming weeks and I need your help. If you have any questions that you'd like to ask any of them please email them to: Gwenfiend@aol.com and put "interviews" in the subject line and make sure to specify who the question is for. I cannot promise that all questions will be used, but I will do my best to use the best ones. Thank you all and keep checking back here for updates!

"The Sweet Escape" Details!

News » Posted: 10/24/2006

Gwen Stefani will release her second solo album, The Sweet Escape, on December 5, 2006. The new album is the follow-up to 2004’s quadruple-platinum Love. Angel. Music. Baby., which included the hits “Hollaback Girl” and “What You Waiting For?”

The first single from The Sweet Escape is The Neptunes-produced “Wind It Up.” The video will be directed by longtime collaborator Sophie Muller. Other contributors to the album include Akon, Tony Kanal, Nellee Hooper, Sean Garrett, Swizz Beatz, Dave Stewart and Keane’s Tim Rice-Oxley.

“This album is surprisingly different than the last one. I started recording it last year before Kingston was born and it’s definitely evolved over the last year. The dance sound is very ‘now.’ It’s modern…not so retro,” says the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter.

Simultaneously, Gwen will release the concert DVD Harajuku Lovers Live, filmed during shows in her hometown of Anaheim, CA. The concert was also filmed by Sophie Muller.

Gwen will embark on a U.S. tour in April 2007.

Gwen is currently putting the finishing touches on a brand new album which will be out before the end of the year. "This is definitely another dance record but the sound has evolved a lot over the last two years as I've gone in and out of the studio. It's more melodic and very modern." she said recently. This time around Pharrell Williams, Nellee Hooper and Tony Kanal return producing/co-writing new songs while first time collaborators Akon and Tim Rice-Oxley (of Keane) join the fray. Song titles include "Wind It Up", "Orange County Girl", "Fluorescent" and "Candyland."

A live DVD is also set to be released this year. The Harajuku Lovers Live DVD will feature a full concert performance shot last year in Gwen's hometown of Anaheim, CA and will be packed with bonus features and footage as well. The live performance includes all the songs off of L.A.M.B. along with 2 songs from the new album. Frequent video director and friend Sophie Muller helmed the concert film.
