Celebrity Project Runway: S.J.P. Versus Gwen
Sounds like Sarah Jessica Parker is hoping to make fashion roadkill out of Gwen Stefani. Everybody's favorite Sex and the City starlet takes a swipe at Stefani's L.A.M.B. clothing collections while talking about her own debut line, Bitten, in the new issue of Glamour magazine. Stefani's designs are "much more avant-garde, definitely high fashion," Parker opines. "I don't want to do that for women, because that's not their lives." Parker says her line won't land you in the poorhouse. "You're going to be able to buy $200 worth of clothes, leave that store with six bags and be able to pay your utilities and take your kids someplace special for their birthday." And Parker knows firsthand what it's like trying to raise kids on little money. When she was growing up-she was one of eight kids-her family was on public assistance briefly. "I got all of my oldest sister's hand-me-downs," Parker tells writer Bob Morris. "And by the time I inherited them, they were really out of fashion." Parker recalls what she wore on her first date with John F. Kennedy Jr.-a Katharine Hamnett black cocktail dress. "It was very simple, actually," Parker says. "Except that she let the zipper be the sort of outstanding feature. Very late '80s." And believe it or not, Parker appears to be getting a bit prudish on us. She's not only against low-rise jeans, but she's sounding an alarm about Young Hollywood. |

SOVEREIGN: "STEFANI SHOULD TRY TO RAP"
British rapper Lady Sovereign is trying to convince pop star Gwen Stefani to take a different musical direction - into hip-hop. Sovereign - real name Louise Harman - is set to support The Sweet Escape singer on her upcoming (Sep07) UK tour, and hopes she'll be able to get Stefani to try her hand at rapping. The Random hitmaker says, "I like making people do music they wouldn't normally. "I would like to do something with Gwen, and do music she doesn't normally mess about with." I don't know if this article is saying that Lady Soverign will only be supporting Gwen on her UK tour, I didn't think she officially dropped out. I know that she cancelled alot her recent tour dates, but was still heading out with Gwen for the US tour. |

Highlights from last nights show
This was an fantastic opening, and just the beginning of the massive worldtour that lays ahead. A lot of celebrites were spotted in the crowd last night, such as Pamela Anderson, Tommy Lee, Paris Hilton. The other guys in No Doubt was also on location for tonights event with their families, except for Tom. Gwen said that "Orange County Girl" was her favourite song. She sings Breaking Up for 1min and she goes into the crowd and all she says is "We're breaking up!" Gwen wore a chef hat at the end of Yummy. For Pharrell's part they played the outro instead. The venue was so small that they couldn't use video screens. The performance of The Real Thing was similar to the Slow Jam remix. Nobody was pulled on stage during the performance. We will soon be back with the tourblog, so keep checking back. And if you see our reporter Jackie Hauck, make sure to say hello to her and her sister.

The Pearl opens with world record attempt
The Palms Casino Resort is synonymous with bringing top-notch celebrities to Las Vegas and rolling out the red carpet for special events, but for the grand opening of The Pearl - the resort's $80 million concert theater - owner George Maloof wanted to make sure the entire city knew that something special is now in their backyard. "Fireworks were a bit too cliche for this opening - we wanted to do something as breathtaking and visually stunning as The Pearl is in its design," said Maloof. On Saturday, April 21, 2007 the neon lights of the city won't be the only method of lighting up the sky. Pulling out all the stops, the Palm's team worked with several distributors to put together a world record attempt: With capabilities of being seen for miles, The Palms Casino Resort will be engulfed in 160 skytracker lights. Historically used for movie premieres and special events, skytrackers let people for miles know that something special is happening and with more than 40 units shining the lights into the sky, the entire valley will be able to witness the lighting spectacular. Being submitted for a world record attempt with the Guinness Book of World Records, the lighting system is the top off to a celebrity studded evening. Hollywood elite such as Dave Navarro, No Doubt, Tommy Lee, Kevin Connolly, Paris Hilton and others will attend The Pearl's grand opening celebration which includes an amazing performance by Gwen Stefani and wraps up with an after-party in Moon nightclub. The Gwen Stefani concert is sold out, however the after party is open to the public and is sure to be a celebrity sighting paradise. |

Gwen on a diet?
"-I have always been on a diet!" Gwen Stefani has the perfect body, a lot of women would say, and at the same time musculous. No Doubt the fact that she is 37 years old. But now the singer reveals that she is very scared of getting fat. The singer Gwen Stefani, 37, will never allow her self to become ugly. When she was pregnant, she silently sneaked out the backentrance of her home, so she wouldnīt risk getting on a paparazzi photo with her big tummy. -I have always been on a diet. I have been on a diet since sixth grade. Itīs an neverending nightmare, she told People magazine.

Setlist spoiler
Nodoubtweb.com reports through someone who works at the PNC Arts Center. That person was “able to see” some of the setlist way ahead of time. He said there are two “possible covers” plus “most of both albums” (”basically what you would expect”). Nodoubtweb.com asked about the covers, and he said he wasn’t sure if they’d be integrated into the setlist immediately or throughout the tour, perhaps later in the UK, etc. He said it was written as such: **Girls & Boys**/**Peek-a-Boo**/**Just Can’t Get Enough** (?)
The rest of the setlist is normal, and he said SHE WILL play “Wonderful Life” and it could be one of the standouts of the set. |

Quick news on Gwen Stefani
Gwen Stefani as a brunette? The singer told Harper's Bazaar that she's considered coloring her hair brown ? "Then I said, 'Nah, I'm gonna milk this blond as long as I can." The singer also spoke up on the future of her career. "Some days, I think there's no way to get away with this any longer," she said in an interview published in the magazine's May issue, on newsstands April 24. "I still feel like that sometimes, even though it's been 20 years. But then some days, I just feel really inspired and I really believe in everything. It's like the 15 minutes just keep getting longer." |

No Doubt still waiting for Gwen, Drummer polishes Golf Game
While Gwen Stefani continues to plant herself at the forefront of the music industry with her two immensely successful solo albums Love, Angel, Music, Baby, and The Sweet Escape, No Doubt continue to wait in limbo with plans of recording their first album of new material since 2001's Rock Steady. So while Tom Dumont, Tony Kanal and Adrian Young await Gwen's rigorous world tour to end, each member has some free time to spend away from the studio while the band is writing new material. Drummer Adrian Young for instance has been playing a lot of golf and working on his game enough to compete in a few mini tours in California. We caught up with Adrian recently to discuss the competitiveness of golf. "I'd say it's all about you on the golf course. It's not like a team sport and it's not like a band. It's you and if you F-up it's on you. So, it's way more competitive when you're in a match than it is playing a gig." Adrian has been getting proficient enough with his golf game that he even admitted he's entered a few mini events in California. "I'm not good enough to play professional golf but I have entered a couple of mini tour events here in California. I participated in those because I like to compete and I'm constantly working on my game." Gwen Stefani's solo tour in support of her latest release The Sweet Escape will extend until October 17th in Vienna, Austria. Although No Doubt have begun pre production and the initial song writing steps they aren't expected to get back into the studio until the end of 2007. Hopefully if all goes well it, No Doubt would then look to finally have a completed album of new material released by the end of 2008. |

John Sampson will not be working with Gwen
Gwen has pretty much used the same security guy over the past couple of years, and I am sure everyone has seen him on the Rock Steady Live DVD. His name is Curtis, and as it seems now he will be with Gwen on the whole US tour. The NDIFC had hoped to see our favourite bodyguard John Sampson who has worked with No Doubt since 1997 on the European tour 2007, but that is not happening. We just had it confirmed by No Doubts management company that he will not be working with Gwen on this tour. So far, they havenīt made the final decision for security internationally, all they know is that it wonīt be John. Hopefully he will be back when No Doubt goes back on tour next year.

4ITM pushed back to very late april/early may?
HellaGoose reports that she heard this from two people with interscope connections now, one of which she knows well enough to trust. And it makes sense, with TSE still making pretty strong gains on pop radio...its very rare that a label will send a follow up single to radio while the prior single is still gaining. So looks like we may have to wait a little longer than we thought. And the NDIFC is checking right now, and will have it confirmed soon. |

"4 IN THE MORNING" video details Thanks to Callmeatomic who credits Foxxden, whom apparently got a sneak peak at the upcoming video for "4 In the Morning," and here is a description of what we should expect: "She is in a room (could be a hotel or an apartment) singing to the camera. Her emotional acting is very good reminded me of "Don't Speak"...she looks genuinely sad at some points. She is dressed in a L.A.M.B. top and sweatpants thru most of it. There is one scene in which she is in a bathtub and shows more skin than I thought she would. Her hair is very Marilyn Monroe (think the "Cool" video but more modern.) "Towards the end of the video you see her leave the room. She is wearing the tie mod look like she looked on American Idol. A doorman opens the door (he is the only other person seen in the video besides Gwen). She gets into a car, but they don't show where she is heading to. "I only got to see it once real quick so I may be leaving stuff out. I did enjoy it and the emotions she puts into the video makes the song more beautiful and sad. It definitely has a spring vibe to it, there is one scene where she is rolling around under clean crisp white sheets (similar to "Underneath It All")." |

ELLIS-BEXTOR ASKS STEFANI FOR PARENTING TIPS British pop star Sophie Ellis-Bextor is desperate to quiz busy celebrity mum Gwen Stefani on how she balances her parenting duties with conquering the music world. The Murder On The Dance Floor singer is mother to two-year-old Sonny and is desperate to know how the American singer achieves success in parenting and pop. She says, "I'd love to sit down with Gwen Stefani and find out how she balances it all. Right now I know she takes her son, Kingston, round with her, but he's only a baby. No Doubt star settles down, is selling bachelorette pad By Ruth Ryon LOS ANGELES - When it comes to naming a lead singer of a rock band who is finding happiness in family life, Gwen Stefani would like there to be No Doubt it's she. She and musician-actor Gavin Rossdale, frontman for the grunge group Bush, were married in 2002 and had a son, Kingston, recently. That September, Stefani and Rossdale bought a 10,000-square-foot Hollywood Hills home for their little family, paying slightly less than its $15.5 million asking price. The contemporary-style house is on two acres in a gated community. Stefani gained fame with rock group No Doubt and hits such as "Just a Girl" and "Don't Speak," then went for a solo spin; her latest solo album is "The Sweet Escape." Stefani has now put her bachelorette pad in L.A.'s Los Feliz section on the market at close to $4.8 million. It has six bedrooms and five bathrooms in 5,000 square feet. The grounds are about half an acre with a pool, spa, electric gates and a long, private drive. Mediterranean in style, the house was built in 1928 and has a two-story entry, hand-stenciled beams, a stone fireplace, an updated kitchen, an atrium with stained glass and a media room. Stefani, 37, has owned the Los Feliz home since 1998, when she bought it for $1.4 million. Two years later, on No Doubt's album "Return of Saturn," she wrote lyrics about her desire to be a mother. Kingston is expected to accompany his mother throughout her upcoming world tour. Stefani has been compared to a younger Madonna in appearance and style. She played Jean Harlow in the film "The Aviator." |

Stefani, Husband Buy $15.5 Million Hollywood Hills Home HOLLYWOOD -- Singer Gwen Stefani and husband Gavin Rossdale, who fronts the grunge band Bush, bought a 10,000-square-foot home in the Hollywood Hills for about $15.5 million, it was reported Sunday. Stefani, who's now on her own but rose to prominence fronting the band No Doubt, put her six-bedroom, vintage-1928 Los Feliz home on the market for close to $4.8 million, the Los Angeles Times reported. The couple have a son, Kingston, who was born last spring and is expected to accompany his mother on her upcoming world tour. The 5,000-square-foot Mediterranean-style home in Los Feliz is on about a half-acre and has a pool, spa, electric gates and a long, private drive. It features a two-story entry, hand-stenciled beams, a stone fireplace, an updated kitchen, an atrium with stained glass and a media room, Ruth Ryon reported in her weekly Hot Property column. Stefani, 37, paid about $1.4 million for the home in 1998, The Times reported. Rossdale, 41, appeared in the movie "Constantine" and is in the cast of the upcoming films "Frost Flowers" and "How to Rob a Bank." |

| Attention
all members/visitors First of all, I would like to begin with a sincere apology for my abscense the past few years and for all the turbulence around the NDIFC the past couple of days. I will try to give you all a brief explanation about what happend, and also the reason why ndifc.com was shut down. I know many of you out there feel a big dissapointment over the silence, and the fact that there has been no Tragic Kingdom Magazine since I left. The good news is everything is back in order now, and TK #10 is in the making. A lot of things has happend during the past few years, and I know a lot of you people has actually moved. So
what I want from you now is that each and everyone drops us an e-mail
at: info@ndifc.com with your current
addresse, and date of birth for our records. By doing this we can make
sure that the next magazine sent out wonīt be returned to us. Please
do this EVEN if your subscription of the TK Magazine has run out. Thank
you.
Back in 2005, I decided to let an old friend and business
partner take over this website and also the future releases of the TK
Magazine to make all paying members happy. Some years passed by, and
it came to my attention that there had been no new magazine put out,
and the website wasnīt updated daily like it was in the good old days.
I did ask the person who was running the fanclub during my absence what
happend, and he told me about a lot of new ideas. Unfortunately, his
ideas made me very dissapointed and the turnout would have been as far
away as it possibly could have had from the original idea of the fanclub,
and the magazine. In his vision there would be no more papermagazines
released and the website would change in a lot of ways.
Therefore, we decided to split company and he will
no longer be involved in the NDIFC. I would like to take the oppertunity
to apologize for taking the feud between us into the public. The NDIFC
will now be back in my hands and Brandon Griggs will be starting a new
venture, but we will still remain friends and wish each other the best
of luck. There will be a Tragic Kingdom magazine and Brandon Griggs
will start his own thing separate from it. Since he won't be printing
a hard copy of his magazine we won't even be in competition with each
other. He is a great guy, and if you want to find out more about his
upcoming projects/new fanclub I certainly reccomend you to e-mail him
at: gwenfiend@aol.com.
Until all issues are sorted out, the ndifc.com is temporarily
transfered to this location (http://www.ndifc.net)
please update your bookmark.
As he now has departed, I am looking for a new partner
in the US to become the vice president. We are also hiring new staff
members all across the world, so if you would be interested in helping
us out, donīt hesitate e-mail us now! info@ndifc.com
I would also like to send out a big apology to the
band for not sorting out this privately, and by doing the band a huge
disservice by airing out our grievances publicly. We owe you a big one,
and your involvement and graciousness has made the NDIFC possible throughout
the years and we do want to continue on being on good terms with you
in all means. Sincerely,
|
