Tony Kanal on New Pink Album Funhouse
The title track itself is a funky rocker with the fists-in-the-air refrain of “This used to be our funhouse/But now it’s full of evil clowns/It’s time to start the countdown/I’m gonna burn it down.” “It’s about when the box you’re in doesn’t fit anymore, burn that fucker down and start a new one,” says P!nk. “This was the first song I did with Tony Kanal of No Doubt and his writing partner Jimmy Harry. I fell in love with working with them. We wrote fun fucking songs together. We did ‘Funhouse’ and ‘Sober.’”

P!nk stepped out of her comfort zone in the recording of Funhouse by working away from her usual stomping grounds of Los Angeles and New York for the first time.

Gavin Rossdale: Kingston's a Little Bit Jealous of Zuma!
Gavin Rossdale says his newborn son Zuma is "fantastic. Really good."

And growing up - fast.

"He's counting backwards from 10, which is pretty impressive," Rossdale joked to Usmagazine.com Sunday at Jane Goodall's sixth annual Roots & Shoots Day of Peace.

Rossdale added that his two-year-old son Kingston is still getting used to being an older brother.

"Kingston thinks he's all right and is getting used to him," he said.

Any jealousy?

"I think at first there was probably a little concern that [Zuma] might be staying over!" said Rossdale.

Meanwhile, wife Gwen Stefani "is feeling on top of the world," he said. "We went to a wedding yesterday for my manager's daughter. It was a lot of fun."

See what Gwen Stefani looked like pregnant.

On Friday, Rossdale blogged that life "is good, been having real good time adjusting."

"Every day is some sort of adjustment to the day before," he added. "It's been pretty busy on the home front, of course. There's been visits and people and precious time."

7 Female-Fronted Rock Bands That Kick butt
Rock and roll ain't just for the boys.

by Aidin Vaziri

From the Rolling Stones to the Jonas Brothers, rock and roll has always felt like a bit of a boys club. But when a girl decides to crash the party, that's when things get really interesting. We look at some of the finest women to have ever braved smelly tour buses, lurid hecklers and filthy backstage toilets to make history.

No Doubt

Without Gwen Stefani bounding across the stage, exposing her midriff and delivering squeaky-voiced bombshells about her love life, it's unlikely the members of this Orange County ska-rock band would have become diamond-certified superstars. The guys may have complained about their supporting roles ¯ most famously in the video for "Don't Speak" ¯ but you know they can't wait for Gwen to put the solo career on hold and stop making babies. "We have this incredible friendship that nobody can touch," Stefani said.

No Doubt in Guitar Hero: World Tour
Guitar Hero: World Tour has finally released its full track list. While the list of 86 tracks isn’t as jaw-dropping as that of its counterpart Rock Band 2, there are a bunch of highlights, including a pair of tracks by Jimi Hendrix and Ozzy Osbourne, plus cuts from Metallica, Nirvana, Van Halen, the Doors and Lynyrd Skynyrd. All the songs are original master recordings. There’s karaoke favorites like the Eagles‘ “Hotel California” and, for the true axmen, virtuoso songs like Joe Satriani’s “Satch Boogie.” Additionally, the game will boast exclusive Guitar Duel recordings by Ted Nugent and Zakk Wylde. There’s also a trio of new play options: Band Career, the Music Studio feature and the 8-player Battle of the Bands that allow bands to compete online. GH:WT also has those new instruments, new amps and that exclusive Smashing Pumpkins premiere single “G.L.O.W.” The game hits shelves October 26th.

New Scott Weiland Solo Disc On The Way
Scott Weiland's second solo album, "Happy," will arrive Nov. 18 via his own Softdrive label. The set was co-produced by Weiland and Doug Grean, with Steve Albini also engineering a handful of songs.

"Happy" boasts guest appearances from three members of No Doubt: Tony Kanal, Tom Dumont and Adrian Young.

Although the full track list has yet to be announced, "Happy" includes "Paralysis" (a Bowie-esque midempo with a crunchy chorus) the banjo- and acoustic guitar-addled "She's So Cold," the peppy rocker "Talk About Love," the bedroom pop-leaning "Somedays" and the glammy, riffy "Missing Cleveland."

Weiland is planning to tour in November in support of "Happy," with dates to be revealed. Until then, he's on tour with the reunited Stone Temple Pilots through Oct. 31 in Pelham, Ala.

His lone prior solo release, "12 Bar Blues," came out in 1998.
