Check out this tv transcript
of that interview made by Raechel Gardiner:

Adrian and Gwen DYLAN: Hello welcome

GWEN: (to Adrian) I thought you were going to give him a big hug

DYLAN: So did I

GWEN: Phew, those smell (SNIFFING FLOWERS)

ADRIAN: How do they taste? (EATS SOME) They’re good

DYLAN: You’re a hippy arent you, I thought so….Welcome Adrian the drummer and Gwen the singer

ADRIAN: Hi
GWEN: that’s right

DYLAN: Thankyou very much for coming here and where is Tom the axeman and Tony the bass guy?

GWEN: Tom Dumont had a….uhh, you cant say the S-H-I-T word can you?
ADRIAN: He had a poop attack
GWEN: Yeah I couldn’t think of another word for it and Tony is probably looking for girls or something like that

DYLAN: Ohhh that Tony always looking for girls, they didn’t go on house of hits did they?

GWEN: Well, I don’t know

DYLAN: I hope not. Your latest LP is your 4th and it follows the very successful Tragic Kingdom album, how does it feel following an album that’s sold in excess of 15million copies?

GWEN: Its been quite cuddly and open arms…everyone has been very sweet and welcoming us all back to the planet because we have been gone for a while

DYLAN: Yeah, what recording? Adrian and Gwen

GWEN: Yeah, writing and recording and its you know, its been a good time to recuperate coz that last tour was about two and a half years, so we were like this close (DEMONSTRATING WITH FINGERS) to coming back to Australia but I think umm, we would have put on a pretty crap show if we would have come back, we were pretty burnt out

DYLAN: I don’t think it woulda been crap. None the less. Could you tell us a little about the title "Return of Saturn"?

GWEN: Return of Saturn. Basically its based on one of the lines in one of the songs called "Artificial Sweetener" and its about the idea of…. Well, it takes Saturn 29 years to circle the sun do from the….

DYLAN: Science lesson?

GWEN: Yeah. Ok from the time your born till the time it returns there’s this kind of reassessment period in your life and a lil bit of growing pains and so that’s when the record was written and kind of about those things

DYLAN:When you were 29 and going through those changes?

GWEN: Yeah

DYLAN: So its not about Lucifer?

GWEN: No

DYLAN:Coz we say Saturn for Satan in Australia so

GWEN: Oh really

DYLAN:So its like "RETURN OF SATAN!!!"…..No its not true I made it up

ADRIAN: (LAUGHS)

DYLAN: Your songs seem to go into some very personal territory in this album with songs like Ex-Girlfriend, Magics in the make-up, Marry me and stuff, do you write all your lyrics Gwen?

GWEN: Yes, I do write them actually

DYLAN: So it’s all really about you is it?

GWEN: Its all the real thing, it’s the real deal yeah

DYLAN: Do you feel that’s a bit revealing, are you afraid of that?

GWEN: Umm, I’m not scared but you know what I’m writing about super normal stuff that everyone goes through and if people say that they don’t go through it, they’re lying, so yeah.

DYLAN: So it’s a universal thing in a way as well

GWEN: Yeah I think so

DYLAN: So are you taking into account the fact that you’re role models when your’e writing songs?

GWEN: I don’t think Adrian takes that into account when he’s dressing himself

DYLAN: What are you talking about?

ADRIAN: I keep exposing myself to children and some people don’t think that’s very good
GWEN: (LAUGHS)

DYLAN: No your not allowed to do that in Australia

ADRIAN: On stage you are

DYLAN: Do you ever censor yourself for the fans, that you are….do you mind being role models?

GWEN: I don’t think we really take that responsibility on..you know we just try to be good people ourselves and if they want to look at us that way then….

DYLAN: They do Adrian and Gwen

GWEN: We’re fooling them all really

DYLAN: Really?

GWEN: Yeah were fooling them

DYLAN: You don’t mind being role models, can I keep saying role models?

GWEN: You can say it a whole bunch of times if you want but I don’t wake up in the morning and go ‘I’m a role model, what am I going to wear today, hmmm’

DYLAN: I better be good so the people can copy me and be good as well

GWEN: (LAUGHS)

DYLAN: Is it disturbing to turn up to a gig and seeing the whole, everyone wearing bindis?

GWEN: Its not disturbing, its very flattering, I think that all of India is probably thinking what the heck is going on over there

DYLAN: There are a lot of Gwenabes around are there any Adrianabes around?

GWEN: Yeah
ADRIAN: Theres one or two out there (LAUGHS)

DYLAN: What Gwen fashion tip can we look forward to in the future that we can copy?

GWEN: These are all private lil secrets that I will not reveal to you

DYLAN: Come on…..We’re seeing some oriental vibes coming through

GWEN: Yeah we were just in Japan, I got these lil (TAPS SHOES ON FLOOR)

DYLAN: They are terrific clogs

GWEN: (CLOSE UP OF HER FEET) ohhhh, not so close (LAUGHS)

DYLAN: Hey rude cameraman. OUT

GWEN: I’ve had some foot injuries recently, so.

DYLAN: Are you ok?

GWEN: Yeah I’m ok. I just got my foot smashed in the door the other day so.

DYLAN: That’s all…

GWEN: One of the toenails is coming off

DYLAN: Ewww

GWEN: We’re gonna have, we’re having a give away though

DYLAN: Of the toe nail?

ADRIAN: (LAUGHS)
GWEN: Yeah

DYLAN: That’s terrific

GWEN: Its painted pink, its really cute, its just its gonna be off my toe pretty soon

DYLAN: That’s terrific news we’re all looking forward to that, no can we talk about ska music, how much is ska an influence on your music?

ADRIAN: It used to be many years ago….

DYLAN: (TO GWEN) Do you hate it when people say ska? Is that why you looked away?

GWEN: I just wanted Adrian to answer that question
ADRIAN: The things is that it’s a title that’s stuck with us for years, but realistically we stopped playing ska quite a long time ago

DYLAN: Were you more pure ska in the beginning?

ADRIAN: In the very beginning only yeah

DYLAN: Were you very rude? Like rudies?

ADRIAN: Fairly
GWEN: I think we’re ruder now than we were then

DYLAN: But not in the traditional sense of the rude image

GWEN: (TO DYLAN) You look like a lil skanker yourself right now

DYLAN: I do skank

GWEN: You do….

DYLAN: Its good that you picked that up, is there a special californian way of skanking that’s differerent to….

GWEN: Adrian can show you

DYLAN: (TO ADRIAN) Please just a quick movement…

GWEN: Come Adrian. Get up. Go go

DYLAN: I’II give you some ska (PUTS ON ACCORDIAN)

GWEN: Yeah!

DYLAN: Can you skank to this ska music?

ADRIAN: Oh man. I haven’t done this in years

DYLAN: But we need to learn, is there an essence your trying to achieve? With the skank in Australia we really concentrate on the pose at the end of each (MOVES AMS)

GWEN: Oh my god you really are a ska boy
ADRIAN: I need a beat

DYLAN: What happened?

ADRIAN: I need a beat over there (POINTS TO HOUSE DRUMMER)

DYLAN: He needs someone to beat him

GWEN: (LAUGHS) He needs someone to beat him!
ADRIAN: (CLICKS FINGERS)

Adrian skanking DYLAN: (PLAYS ACCORDIAN, DRUM BEAT IN BACKGROUND)

ADRIAN: (SKANKS AROUND STAGE FOR A BIT)

DYLAN: Oi!

GWEN: That was so good

DYLAN: Really?

GWEN: Yeah that was great

DYLAN: Thanks so much, that was very Oi, you did Oi to the world didn’t you one time?

GWEN: we actually recorded that song, yeah we did a video to that also

DYLAN:Really? Not caught that one. Must look out for it. what is the point of skanking? Why is it so hard to do and so many rules…

GWEN: God…
ADRIAN: I don’t know. There is a lot of ska rules. I think that’s why we started playing other music so we didn’t have any rules in this band musically

DYLAN: That’s nice, freedom

GWEN: Freedom yeah

DYLAN: And what are your next plans?

GWEN: We get to go on tour for the next year probably so…we just spent four months talking about ourselves which is very exhausting and something you don’t really practice when you get in a band but umm now that’s done were gonna go on tour in America, then we come right back here, so were very excited

DYLAN: Great. Very happy news. Have you got ant golfing in when you’ve been here?

ADRIAN: uhh, no I haven’t. I bought my clubs but they’ve been sitting in the hotel room

DYLAN: Have you played in Australia before?

ADRIAN: No. But I was tempted last night to hit golf balls out of my hotel room into the harbour, but I thought better of it

DYLAN: It’s a rock thing to do, we love…

GWEN: Ask him if he’s had any drinking while he’s been here

DYLAN: Have you had any drinking while you have been here?

ADRIAN: Yeah, had a lot

DYLAN: Ok. Return of Saturn Australian exclusive limited edition with a screen saver and iron on transfer involved in the thing, in stores now!! And what does this cover mean? So when people are looking at it, listening to your music they can read stuff into it

GWEN: I think you need to study the lyrics a bit and you’ll see a lil symbolism in there. So its all very well thought out, it wasn’t just thrown together for no reason

DYLAN: Doesn’t look like it. Before we have a look at Simple Kind of Life which is off the LP, it’s the next single to be released very very soon, we must thank you so much for being here tonight

GWEN: Thank you very much

DYLAN: Miss Gwen Stefani and Mr Adrian Young (SHAKES HANDS)

ADRIAN: Thankyou

Clip of SKOL is played. The end.
