No Doubt in studio, March 1999

Big exclusive ND interview in issue #4:
Last week, I was invited to meet No Doubt in their studio for an exclusive interview. We talked about the new album and much more. I was also allowed to take a bunch of pictures that will appear along with the interview in issue #4. The pictures will not be published on this website until they have been published in the magazine, so look forward to that too.

But here is a few(3) that were taken in their studio March 4th 1999. The one to the right is me and Tom Dumont. So what happend? Well, just a few weeks before my departure to Los Angeles I got in touch with the band, and was able to set up this meeting. Just one day before the meeting, I was watching the New video MTV premiere and that was quite exiting. It was also very exiting to hear Gwen again, as Carson from MTV did a short interview over the phone with her. The video was great. My friend Brandon, who also works for NDIFC came down this evening to L.A. from the SF to join me for this meeting. The meeting was around 5pm the following day.And I guess you could say I was very exited!

Of course, me and Brandon got there way early. Like half an hour or so. When we got to the studio, we had to sit down and wait. We talked a little with their engineer who also engineered the Beacon Street Collection, and then Chris

Fenn also showed up after a while. The band was currently busy recording upstairs. Around 5pm the band came down, and we all sat down and leaned back in the comfortable sofas. And the interview started. I had a really lousy recorder, so after each question we had to pass it around. Many interesting facts was revealed during this interview, and everything will be printed in issue #4! But I can reveal now that Eric Stefani has been writing for this new record!!

After the interview, the band signed some stuff for the fanclub, posed for a bunch of pictures and then they had to get busy working again. I talked a little more with Chris Fenn, while Brandon called for a taxi. Then there was a ring on the door bell. And then I realised that it was no other than Eric Stefani! My very first meeting with this talented man. He entered and I said hi! He was very nice, and we had a little chat, and I showed him the latest issue of the magazine. He was very impressed and said that he liked it a lot.

I would like to end this short story by thanking everyone in No Doubt for inviting us, and of course also to Chris Fenn who made all this possible. Look forward to this BIG interview in issue #4!!!

Sincerely
